On My Radar: If I’m Going Down…

Just this weekend, a new game went up on Kickstarter called If I’m Going Down…  It’s a self-proclaimed “Dying Card Game” with a zombie-survival theme, except that in this game, survival is not an option.  Your character will die, but what’s important is how many zombies you take with you!

It’s scenario based and is apparently playable with either 1 or 2 players, but additional copies of the game can be combined to accomodate up to 5 or 6 players.  In a world overwhelmed by hordes of zombie-themed games, If I’m Going Down promises to be a breath of fresh air to the genre.  We’ll see about that, I suppose, but I’m certainly interested enough as of right now.

And just to add a little extra about the Kickstarter campaign itself, A.J. Porfirio (the designer) plans on making it very interactive through seeking backer input regarding the various promo cards and special scenario planned for Kickstarter backers.

For more information, check it out Kickstarter, the Van Ryder Games homepage, BGG, follow Van Ryder Games on Twitter… or just take a look below (if I can get it to work, anyway.  If not, be sure to check out the video on Kickstarter, which is very cool).

  1. Man, pretty soon, games about zombies will outnumber games about Medieval Europe! 🙂

  2. I have a playtest copy. It’s pretty good – easy to learn though heavy iconography. Solo ability is very appealing.

Yeah, I heard about how you were holding out on me.  Are you gonna come to game night sometime this month so I can try it out?
